Construction Elements

Insulation: Liquefied natural gas tanks are heavily insulated with materials like perlite or polyurethane foam in order to keep the molecules at low temperatures.

 

Materials: The inner tank is commonly made of nickel-steel alloys, which do not tend to become brittle at extremely low temperatures. The outer tank is made of carbon steel / reinforced concrete.
