The feed air is first liquefied by the refrigeration produced by turbo-expander and then rectified for two times on the basis of the different boiling points between liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen. As a result, oxygen at a purity of over 99.6% and nitrogen at a purity of over 99.99% can be obtained from the plant. If required, the plant can also produce liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen partially by means of modified operation.

1. Working Principle
Air separation equipment mainly separates oxygen, nitrogen and other gases from the air through cryogenic distillation, pressure swing adsorption or membrane separation.
- Cryogenic distillation: compress and cool the air to liquefaction temperature, and then separate the components in the distillation tower according to the different boiling points of each component.
- Pressure swing adsorption: utilize the difference in adsorption capacity of adsorbents for different gases to achieve gas separation during pressurization and decompression.
- Membrane separation: utilize the different permeation rates of polymer membranes for different gases to create a concentration difference between the two sides of the membrane, thereby achieving separation.
